About Coach

I wouldn't consider myself sporty. I grew up participating in gymnastics on and off my whole life. I have always loved the challenge of gymnastics since I was a kindergartener. I didn't grow up with an active lifestyle and was quite a bit heavier than I am now when I was a pre-teen. I decided to try out for cheerleading in 6th grade, where my fitness journey started. I wanted to be good at it, which meant I had to be good enough to do a toe touch and tumble. That pushed my back into gymnastics. I also started studying how to make better food choices. After a few years, I became a decent tumbler and stunt girl. I competed on a national-level coed cheer squad all of high school and eventually coached the same squad for a few years after I graduated. CrossFit fills the competitive void, always offers a challenge, keeps me coaching, and allows me to cheer others on. It's like I have been training for this role forever!

Turning Point

Being overweight in middle school and feeling awful was a turning point in my life. I had a competitive nature and active spirit but I was doing neither of those things. I was the only one in my household who wanted to change my way of life. That was difficult doing it alone. After they saw my success though, several other family members jumped on board to a healthier way of life. I'm very thankful for that. Since then, I've always looked for avenues to help me stay the course of being healthy and fit. I'm proud to say that I found CrossFit when I was 24 and I'm going on 10 years! To me, that says a lot about CrossFit. I've had 3 babies since I started. I'm still going strong! I still have so much I can improve on, but I'm grateful for how it has helped me stay healthy through many seasons of life.

Motivation & Passion

I LOVE CrossFit. It is not only fun and challenging, it keeps me mentally sane and physically fit. I want everyone to experience it! Being coached is crucial to getting better. I want to get better. As much as I want to be coached, I want to pass on that coaching to other members. I've coached our CrossFit kids, regular members, and longevity group. I enjoy coaching them all.
